Sunsets may steal the spotlight, but if you turn your back on them, you’ll find something just as magical—soft gradients in the sky, delicate colors fading into the evening. This quiet light, full of serenity, became the backdrop for my photo series Spiaggia, captured over several winter weeks along the Italian coast. In Lido di Ostia, a place that overflows with life in summer, winter brings an entirely different atmosphere—a Sleeping Beauty-like stillness, where empty beach huts stand as silent reminders of past seasons. Free from crowds, the seaside transforms into a space of solitude and reflection. With Spiaggia, I wanted to capture this unique, almost surreal calm—the quiet beauty of a place resting before its next awakening.
